Shared Ownership homes hit the market at Whitefield development

Home-hunters looking to settle down in the sought-after town of Whitefield, Bury, can now step onto the property ladder sooner with the help of Shared Ownership.

A total of 14 new energy efficient homes have been released for sale at Wheatfields, the latest development from affordable homes provider Onward Living.

Situated on the site of the former Wheatfields Day Centre on Victoria Avenue, the three-bedroom semi-detached homes are now available to reserve ‘off-plan’, with example prices starting from £100,000 based on 40% Shared Ownership.

Shared Ownership allows home-seekers to purchase a share of their home (between 10% and 75% of the property’s full market value) and pay rent on the remaining amount.

Buying a percentage of the home means a smaller deposit, which is typically between 5% and 10% of the share you are buying rather than the full amount, making it easier for lots of people, particularly first-time buyers, to get a foot on the ladder.

All the homes released at Wheatfields are The Clifton house style, a spacious and contemporary three-bedroom home built with modern living in mind, featuring stylish fittings and integrated appliances, a large kitchen/diner and utility space, a separate lounge for entertaining guests, fully turfed gardens, solar panels and EV charging points, and off-street parking.

Wheatfields is conveniently close to the bars, restaurants, amenities and supermarkets of Whitefield, and is just six miles north of Manchester city centre. The development is also perfect for growing families, with Whitefield Community Primary School just at the end of the road.
